Have the Wachowski's redeemed themselves?

I doubt it. Matrix: Revolutions was a pile of shit. BUT, has anyone seen V for Vendetta? I just bought it and I liked it alot. There wasn't as many fight scenes as one would hope, but the few it had were done well. And Hugo was awesome as V. Check it out if you haven't.

Based on your review I've put it up to number one on net flix. We'll watch it next week. Tonight we're watching Fight Club. It was on tv last week and the wife said she's never seen it. I wonder if I'll still like it?

Well, it wasn't much of a review. More like a question. ha ha I know you will like it. It was more plotty than action. But they threw in fights just when you needed them. Of course you'll still like Fight Club. It's a great movie. But it always makes me want to drink, smoke, kick people's asses and blow shit up.

Speaking of shitty movies, I've seen a shit storm of horrible movies latley.

1. The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, with Tommy Lee Jones and Barry Pepper, It looked awesome but was terrible.
2. Oceans 12 = BORING
3. The Break Up, Another snooze fest
4. Bench Warmers. Not that funny.
5. Crash, Annoying.

I liked crash. But I'm not socked that you didn't.

As for fight club...it does seem silly in retrospect. I'm curious to see if I'll still like now that I'm past the post adolescent thing.

To paraphrase a review of fight club I heard when it first came out; “If you’re a young guy angry at how pointless life seems then this movie will really resonate. But if you’re at all invested in your life and future (and I’m not talking a mortgage, owning a dining room table will do) a movie about punching your friends in the garage is going to seem pretty silly.”

I’m neither young nor particularly pissed, but I still don’t own a dining room table. So we’ll have to see if I like it. I’m guessing I will, but I’m probably going to laugh a lot more.

I agree with you about the cop and the lady. That would have been a lot better. But I like that the clueless Persians were so pissy with the gun store owner that they bought blanks. That was funny. Have you seen happy ending? That’s a good/weird movie.

The store owners daughter bought blanks ON PURPOSE because she knew her dad didn't know anything about guns and had a bad temper. Thanks to her thinking the little girl lived.

I haven't seen happy ending.

If nothing else, Fight Club had a great soundtrack, and some great atmosphere. I still like it - at least some thought went into how it lokos and its style, which I think it pulled off pretty well.

I'll agree with you there McMinn, the movie was well done, I didn't like it for other reasons. Like what Garble pointed out.

I saw V in the theater, and I thought that it was pretty darn good.
