School Administrators are SMRT

Sometimes it’s hard not to hold the people that run the schools in contempt. Some of them have banned the American Flag from Campus. (i'm not making this up) The way they see it white students are taunting Mexican (Mexican American?) students with the US flag. Last time I checked the US flag didn’t stand for white people. It shouldn't stand for white people. It should stand for American people of any color. I’d like the school to teach the Latino kids that old glory is their flag too. But that wouldn’t be sensitive to the culture of not liking the country that your parents went through hell to illegally enter. Best quote is from a kid named Guzman who’s had a US flag on his car since 9/11:

“I don’t know who did it or why. But I’ve had them on my car since 9/11 and it wasn’t until now that anyone messed with them. I’m Mexican. All of this is embarrassing to me and my family,” Guzman said of the nationwide protests. “I don’t want people looking at me or my sister like we’re one of those idiots protesting for a getout-of-jail-free card.”

I’d like it better if he said his ancestors are Mexican. But I figure he meant Mexican as a race not a nationality. Plus he's young and this is a quote from a newspaper.
